Woonsocket is a vibrant city filled with potential, but like many communities, it faces significant challenges that require immediate attention. As a candidate for Woonsocket City Council in the 2024 General Election, I am committed to tackling these issues head-on through a dynamic and comprehensive plan aimed at addressing crime, substance abuse, homelessness, and post-pandemic recovery.

Crime prevention is a critical concern for all residents. To build a safer community, I will advocate for stronger community policing efforts that foster trust and collaboration between law enforcement and residents. Additionally, supporting initiatives that provide alternative paths for at-risk youth will help reduce crime in the long term by focusing on prevention.
Substance abuse is another major issue that affects many families in our city. I will work to expand access to rehabilitation services, increase funding for prevention programs, and create support systems for those battling addiction. Substance abuse is not just an individual problem—it’s a community issue, and addressing it requires a compassionate, multi-faceted approach.

Woonsocket also faces the pressing issue of homelessness, exacerbated by the aftermath of the pandemic. Providing affordable housing options and increasing access to shelter and mental health services are vital steps in tackling homelessness. By working closely with local organizations and utilizing available state and federal resources, we can offer real, sustainable solutions for those who need them most.
Finally, post-pandemic recovery remains a crucial challenge for our city. From economic fallout to the mental health impacts of isolation, our community continues to feel the effects. I will focus on supporting local businesses, providing mental health services, and creating recovery initiatives to help Woonsocket bounce back stronger than before.
But addressing these challenges isn’t enough—we also need to invest in the future. Education and Youth Empowerment are central to my platform. By focusing on drug prevention programs, mentorship opportunities, and enhanced education, we can give our young people the tools they need to succeed. Our youth are the future of Woonsocket, and it’s up to us to ensure they are supported and empowered.
